What Happens During a Root Canal?

Root canals can be completed on permanent teeth, so they’re often not recommended for our younger patients who have all of their primary teeth. By removing the infected pulp within the inner chamber of the tooth, Dr. Lydia can help erase your teen’s tooth pain. Our team will then replace the structure of the tooth using a substance called gutta-percha and provide it with an extra layer of protection by securing a dental crown over the top.

What is Pulp Therapy?

Pulp therapy is for hurting primary teeth, making it ideal for younger patients who are experiencing tooth pain caused by infected nerves and pulp. Dr. Lydia will remove only the portion of the soft tissue within the inner chamber that’s damaged, restoring the structure and topping it off with a dental crown.
